I’ll never forget being on a call with an expert (along with 10 other people), so we could all learn more about running an online store on this interwebs thing.
That was 10 years ago, but what occurred during that call made such an impression on me I’ve never forgotten about it.
We were discussing how to handle customer complaints for an online store and the “expert” said, “Customers! I hate customers. Make sure you set up systems to keep yourself as far away from them as possible.”
Ugh. I was HIS customer. He was talking about me. That comment didn’t make me feel valued as a customer (and this training wasn’t cheap). My opinion of him was forever changed with that comment.[...]
